4th Grade Ag Day

The Cheyenne County Farm Bureau will host the Sidney 4th Grade students at an Ag Day at a member's farm. Nearly 100 students will be able to learn about cow/calf operations, see farm equipment (tractor, sprayer, air seeder, combine) in person, and learn about feed nutrition.

This is important to our students and community because students will get a hands on experience where they learn about where food actually comes from and they are able to ask all of their inquisitive questions. The majority of these students live in town and have not much exposure or opportunities to see what agriculture is all about.

Our goal is to help them learn facts about agriculture and have an appreciation for everything it takes to put food on their table. We will provide bus travel, snacks, and fun goodies for the students to take home.

We are hoping to also build our partnership with our newly formed FFA chapter and have them participate in lessons.
